Our Range Of Services
At That Cleaning Crew, we are recognised experts in Mould Remediation Services for homes, offices, and commercial properties.
We proudly serve Newcastle, Sydney, and the Central Coast, offering a wide range of services tailored to meet your specific needs.
The first step in successfully dealing with a mould issue is to perform a comprehensive mould inspection of the affected premises.
Undertaking the initial inspection is vital on order to ensure that once the Mould Treatment is completed, you are well informed as to the cause of the issue and how to avoid the issue of mould occurring again in the future.
Our onsite inspections take around 45 minutes to carry out depending on the needs of the property. In essence, it is a mini building inspection that is dedicated to mould.
The inspection is very thorough as to ensure the source of the mould problem is identified, why its growing and ways to stop it, health risks and solutions are compiled. Upon completing an onsite inspection, we will email you a copy of our findings.
That Cleaning Crew only uses NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities) accredited facilities to carry out Laboratory testing in order to ensure your results are a true and genuine representation of the Indoor environmental conditions of your premises.
Air and/or surface samples are taken throughout the affected premises and then sent immediately to our Laboratory Provider. The process for taken samples takes around 5-10mins per sample. The lab returns the results in an analytical chart – see example within 5 days. The chart reveals the types of mould (not all mould are harmful), as well as the spore count (consentration of mould).
If you have concerns for your health or a serious illness for which you have not otherwise been able to identify the cause, testing for mould is a wise step.
Mould reports – see example, provide the valuable information required for you to make an informed decision as to the Environmental condition of the premises and what action is or isn’t necessary.
The Report is recommended and undertaken in situations that may lead to Tribunal hearings (NCAT) or litigation proceedings.
Once we have carried out the inspection and received the results from the lab, a report is generated and emailed to you with the following information.
Enjoy the many benefits a truly healthy indoor environment can provide. Using our proven system we are able to provide you with the best possible living environment usually within the space of a day. Once your Mould Inspection (call out) has been carried out and you have received the report outlining the necessary works required, it’s time to take the next step and have the treatment performed.
Our Natural Mould Solution are all encompassing, environmentally friendly and most of all, highly effective. As the treatment is completely natural, it treats absolutely everything within a defined space without exception. The whole purpose of treating your home for mould is to do everything all at once, including your personal items.
There are two paths to consider, is the mould airborne or surface only.
Airborne Mould – A unique blend of therapeutic oils are diffused through a cold press diffuser over a 24 hour period. This proven process is totally safe and leave absolutely no residual so there’s no need for washing any of your content items following the treatment as with alternate techniques. You can basically leave your breakfast on the table and come home and eat it if you’d really like, it’s that safe.
Surface Mould – Whether it is external or internal mould we have a few options here (Natural or Chemical). Depending on your specific circumstances we can design a solution that fits your needs. For internal walls, ceilings the entire surface is treated and wiped down to remove the dead spores and in 99.9% of cases no painting is required.
All of our internal treatments include specialised vacuuming and wiping of all affected areas and the operation of HEPA Filters during the entire clean-up phase.
Treating the source of any mould contamination premises is vital as to ensure mould free living is maintained for the many years ahead. Subfloors (the area between the floor of your house and the ground below) are often heavily contaminated with mould due to excessive moisture and inadequate ventilation.
Poor sub floor ventilation could lead to poor health for you and your loved ones. Common problems that arise due to inadequate ventilation are mould & mildew, condensation on windows and walls and musty smells. Additionally, it could cause damage to some parts of your home or commercial space that are susceptible to decay, such as bearers and joists or flooring timber. This damage caused by the development of mould due to high moisture levels in the house can lead to expensive remediation cost, and is a conducive condition to termite attack.
We use quality in-line European fans in our subfloor ventilation systems. These systems are configured to create cross flow in subfloor areas and extract stale contaminated air. As these systems extract air, atmospheric pressure replaces the stale air with fresh air. Typically, these systems are timer controlled and run-on mains power.
Typically, the system will run from 10am – 4pm daily for a few reasons:
How does it work?
Our subfloor ventilation system works by exhausting the damp stale air from the subfloor and naturally replacing the air through atmospheric pressure. By exhausting the air from the subfloor, fresh, drier air is forced in naturally due to the pressure differential, allowing the subfloor to begin drying out. We usually aim for approximately 10 full air changes per hour, meaning the moisture in the subfloor is exhausted long before it has a change to penetrate into your living areas above. By increasing the ventilation underneath the home, this can stop condensation on windows, mould & mildew growth and musty smells, improving the general health of the home.
The fan(s) are joined with ducting, allowing us to remove air from areas under the home that will increase the cross flow ventilation or movement of air. By using ducting, we can ensure that all areas of the subfloor are ventilated adequately, giving you the best results. The damp, stale air is exhausted out of the subfloor down one side of the house, away from entertaining areas (where possible).
Running Costs
Your likely annual electricity running costs will depend on the size of the system installed. On average however, it is approx. $90/year1 for our SFVx 3 Fan system (suitable for homes around 150m2).
Generally, each fan costs approx. $30/year to run2 If you have solar panels on the roof, then due to the system running through the daylight hours, your system is effectively a solar powered system, drawing ~42w per fan3.
Warranty
The high-quality fans have a 5 year manufacturers replacement warranty, with our labour coming with a 2 year warranty. Any electrical work organised by us on your behalf is performed by fully licensed and insured tradespeople. All work/tradespeople are covered by a minimum of $5 million public liability insurance
Excessive moisture within the structure (walls, ceilings, floors) and content items provide a source from which mould and bacteria can form. All it takes is 48 hours following a major water incursion for mould to flourish.
Effectively drying the premises within this time period will minimise significant loss and avoid serious health issues.
Elevated moisture readings in the structure not due to a flood event can include rising or lateral damp, leaking plumbing, poor drainage and gutter failure.
All of these can contribute to elevated moisture levels within the structure which will encourage mould growth. To remedy this, the source issue must be rectified then the appropriate structural drying performed.
Utilising the latest DRIEAZ drying equipment, dehumidifiers and fans are installed and left to run for usually 3 to 4 days depending on the severity of the moisture penetration.
Structural Drying is vital when required, but it must be done at the correct time. NEVER initiate this process when there is still active mould present.

Mould is a microscopic fungus that's a natural part of our environment, crucial for our ecosystem. It releases spores into the air, both inside and outside your property.
Mould can begin to grow in as little as 24-48 hours under the right conditions.
Mould requires a moist environment, suitable temperatures, and a food source – which can be leaves, paper, dirt, wood, or other porous building materials. It's often found in damp, poorly ventilated spaces with stagnant air.
Mould can lead to serious structural damage in your property, potentially devaluing it and resulting in costly repairs.
Plus, mould exposure can trigger allergies and symptoms like nasal issues, eye irritation, wheezing, skin irritation, or, in rare cases, more severe reactions.
Signs include visible mould growth, water stains, or clothing that looks mouldy. A professional mould assessment can identify fungal activity.
Look for areas with past water leakage, such as roofs, pipes, ceilings, or walls. Musty, damp odors can also indicate mould presence.
Different mould types, like "toxic mould," "green mould," and "black mould," are often mentioned, but their type doesn't affect the remediation process. We recommend removal if mould is present, no matter its type.
Control mould by maintaining proper humidity levels. Use air conditioners or dehumidifiers in humid months and spaces. Install exhaust fans in bathrooms and kitchens, along with exterior dryer vents. Consider subfloor or roof ventilation. Promptly repair roof, wall, or plumbing leaks by professionals.
For elevated mould levels, experts advise hiring a professional mould remediation company. If you're uncertain, consult a specialist for an assessment to isolate and address affected areas before mould spreads.
Home insurance typically covers mould damage from sudden and accidental water flooding, like burst pipes. Coverage varies by policy and provider. Damage from humidity or slow leaks due to neglected maintenance is usually not covered.
